Besides managing tissue repository and data collections, Indivumed has ongoing research projects at its research laboratories. Indivumeds research is focused on identification of proteins and protein pattern that can be used for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
A special research effort is put in identifying proteins that help to guide therapy according to the molecular basis and, thus, to individualize cancer therapy.
Indivumed´s research is incorporated into cooperative projects with leading researchers of different international academic institutes such as Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University and the National Cancer Institute in the US as well as University of Göttingen and University of Hamburg in Germany.
Indivumed is also working together with established and recognized biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. These industrial collaborations are primarily based on service-for-fee business. They not only support drug development programs in these companies but also finance the infrastructure of Indivumed. Indivumed is expecting long-term revenues from inventions such as better diagnostic markers to guide cancer therapy.
